I removed the last four courses of deck boards so I could get access to the two "squeakers" (identified by pieces of
aluminum tape below – placing both feet on these tape pieces yielded a very clear squealing noise):
I added a second tri-axial accelerometer to the sub frame (as show above) to try to correlate the joist vibration with the deck board vibration. With a helper alternating steps on the deck boards between the two taped foot fall positions, the six channels of data were captured a number of times.
